What is your primary product or service?
River Oak Center for Children provides mental and behavioral health services to children and youth ages birth- 21 years with a focus on working with the family in establishing and meeting treatment goals. Our mission statement: River Oak Center for Children helps children and youth who need support, coaching, and treatment to thrive at school, at home and in the community. Through innovative and evidence-based programs, River Oak strengthens children, youth and families to manage life's challenges and achieve their full potential.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
River Oak has a long history of delivering effective services to our community. A heavy emphasis is placed on using evidence-based programs with a research based demonstration of heightened success. Eight Family Partners and 6 Youth Peer Mentors are employed to assist youth and families navigate the multiple systems of care and have their voices heard. The Joint Commission awarded River Oak the Gold Seal for excellence in Behavioral Health Care based on treatment standards, staffing and safety. This national award has been maintained since 2003.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
River Oak serves the community through 3 program sites. Although programs are expanding, our geographic locations are not growing.

The Birth and Beyond First 5 Family Resource Center in Oak Park, Sacramento is the only site with walk-in services. It is located at 4322 4th Avenue, Sacramento, CA. The other sites provide services only with authorization.
What type of payments do you accept?
There are no fees for any services offered at River Oak Center for Children.
Which areas do you service?
River Oak serves all of Sacramento County with mental health services. Our Family Resource Center in Oak Park only serves specific zip codes in the Oak Park area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
River Oak is a private non-profit with a staff of agency officers and a board of directors.
What are your hours of operation?
Office hours are from 8am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment is to refer other children and families to our services.
